Why wouldn't iCloud work EXACTLY the same as Finder, in that you an use the shift key to select sequential photos? Why is it different - this is silly. You actually have to use command and select each of 1,000 photos to download? I need to use iCloud since Apple still won't make it available to view photos as a folder to simply drag and drop into a folder! ImageCapture ALWAYS crashes! Help!

I'm using Chrome on Windows 10. I was able to use my ALT key to select multiple pictures. Extremely odd method when every other computer system uses SHIFT to select multiple sequential files and CTRL to select individual files.
I couldn't find anything that would let me select ALL the pictures.
At one time, you could use the shift key, but that feature was removed.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem or a suggestion for change. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem/suggested change solved sooner.
Another option is to select a Moment, then click the Share button, and then cancelling the Share. The photos should remain selected.
I could not agree more with this issue - I have used my phone / tablet to take pictures for work for years and it is now beyond annoying trying to download multiple images. Love apple products but can't believe they made this mistake.
Please let me know when I can at least drag to select multiple again!

I know holding alt works (I have an apple keyboard on windows 10 PC) but that still only allows you to select them manually one by one.
They need to bring back drag select or improve their file system!
For those discovering this thread who are on a Mac, the "Select Multiple Photos" stacking function is available with Command-Shift.
(Worked for me using Safari 11.1.2 to reach iCloud, using El Capitan v.10.11.6 on an old MacBook)
would be awesome to not only answer the question that was asked but to fix the problem.
They do remain selected but if you then "download" you still have to click the "save" button each time and sometimes only partially downloaded.........too bad doesn't behave as if in 'Explorer' view.
That is why I suggested sending Apple feedback.
