Did you just had it updated to 11.5.2?
Because I had the same problem.
Found out, that my cover didnt shut off the iPad anymore, after the update.
Changed that back and the draining is over.
Carefully check if the iPad shut it self off, if you shut the cover.
(supposing you have a cover that should shut off the iPad.)

What IPad do you have and how long have you own this IPad?
Have you tried a hard reset of your iPad by holding down both the Home and sleep/wake buttons simultaneously until your iPad goes to black and restarts with Apple logo, then release the buttons?
If still no joy, take your IPad to your “local” Apple Store or Apple authorised service center to have your IPad inspected and diagnosed for any issues and quote for price for possible repair/replacment.
Make sure they check your IPad’s battery.
Your IPad’s battery may have failed and a battery replacement maybe possible and a much cheaper repair than the cost of an out of warranty, refurbished replacement IPad.
