hello, I have an iPhone 8 plus. My screen is locked and I am unable to do anything with it. I can't even power down because I can't get to the slider to power it off. I have tried holding the home button and the power button simultaneously and it does nothing except take a screen shot when I finally let go. I also tried holding the volume up and the power button as someone suggested and it called 911!!!! This happen twice.
Please help!

If you take you phone and hook it into a computer that you have logged into on iTunes and go into your account (like you would to do update and recovery) you may get lucky and have it disengage the lock. This happened to me on my 6s and after repeatedly plugging the phone in it actually released the screen. I did not have to go into recovery mode. I called support and they said that there is a known issue and to disable Touch ID and only use you pr passcode for access. Hope this helps.

Yes I do but you don't.

OP said it didn't force restart but makes a screenshot and that's correct.
And the new feature in iOS 11 which you & OP don't know about
