How do I change the frame-rate on a Project?

Hello, I'm having an issue choosing the dimensions and framerate for a couple of my video files.Usually, I'll get this screen when uploading a video into the project. However, that's the not the case with a couple others of mine: the modify section neither shows up nor works. Any reason for this? Is it because the video is "standard" somehow while other wasn't? If so, how do I make so it isn't? Any help would be immensely appreciated.

Once the Project is setup and the first clip is added, the Project Properties and frame rate are set.

You may have set up a Custom Project, in which case the frame rate is set to whatever you selected.

In either case you cannot alter the frame rate of the Project after it is set. If you add another clip that is different in frame rate, FCP X will have to render and make it conform to the existing Project Properties.

What you can do is copy/paste the contents of the existing Project into another newly created Custom Project with the desired dimensions, frame rate etc.

If these items, Clips and Projects, do not match, then you force them to render.

There are Industry Standard video sizes and frame rates, that's why you see them listed in the Project setup window.

As general rule, Projects and video properties should match to minimise rendering, drive space and computer power.

Say if I downloaded a clip from Reddit or whenever I get the highlights to edit, often asked to interpolate it to 60fps using the optical option. So if the clips are slightly off by dimensions, like say 1925x1080, I can see how it was not industry standard. So what I'm getting is basically, if you have something in its correct dimensions, you can't do any kind of edits to it in regards to its frame rate.

See this is the issue: I selected 60fps, and the clip states it is still in 30FPS and it plays in 30FPS. Others allowed me to match it using the optical flow option, but they weren't the industry standard, I suppose. How do I edit the Industry Standard ones so I can edit them properly like the others?
