Error, cannot watch video while screen is being captured.

Since other apps work there is no restriction on the device beyond what Dish has put there. If there was a. restriction on the device as a whole then your HBO go and others would not work.

Basically Dish will blame Apple, but the reality is Dish put those restrictions in place. they just direct you to apple to avoid admitting that they put the restriction in place.

This is a user to user forum, so you are not speaking to apple here. If you want to make an appointment at an apple store or authorized service provider you can take it in but they will likely tell you that it’s up to Dish to remove that restriction

Just got off the phone with DISH tech-support. Per their tech-support department DISH is blocking the ability to View from iPad on a separate device such as a TV. They couldn’t tell me when this went into effect but I believe it was probably the first part of February or last part of January when it started. That’s when I first started seeing the problem. Their rep was saying that it was due to a copyright issue for content. I don’t get it why this would be copyright infringement to view it on a large screen TV In my home. Since I have a smart TV I can get to the content and display it on my screen. It’s just easier to do it through my iPad. If anyone else is checking into this let me know you’re here if you’re hearing the same thing.

That exact thing is happening to me while trying to use the Dish app. I was trying it on an iphone 6 and iphone 5. I received the same message on both phones, yet, I am able to use it on my ipad air and on my son's old iphone. Doesn't make any sense on why they can be used on select devices.

It is possible that the ability was locked out in an app update. Does your air run something other than iOS11? Or could it be running an older version of hte app?

Actually both are running on 11.2.5.
