Play/Pause, rewind and fast-forward buttons aren't working

F7, F8, and F9 used to working in and out of any application for iTunes. However, when I tried to pause or play music from safari, it would start controlling the video, so I would have to leave the app then pause it on iTunes. Now, it has stopped all functions and will not work whoever ever I press them. Please help, this is very frustrating.

I see that the F7, F8, and F9 buttons have stopped working to control music in iTunes. I'll be happy to help assist you with this.

Do the buttons work in iTunes if you don't have Safari open? It sounds like Safari may be taking control/priority over these buttons. Please test without Safari open and see if you get the same result.

If you have the same issue, I recommend some software isolation troubleshooting and testing this in another user account. This will help isolate the issue from the main user account to the entire system.
