If the iPhone isn't recognized by the computer, you're out of luck on trying to get the data on your own.

There are some companies that can do data recovery on iPhones, just do a quick Google search for them. They are not cheap though, usually around $750-$2000.

It really is best to keep regular backups so in case anything happens to the phone, you have your data.

If you have not been making backups of your device, and it is not recognized by the computer, then you aren't going to be able to recover your data. And the only way to get that data on your new device would be from a backup on iTunes or iCloud, or if you were using iCloud Photo Library, you would simply sign into iCloud, turn on iCloud Photo Library on your new device, and the photos would download from iCloud.

But if you have done neither of those things, then there isn't no way to get the data out of the device.

Do you not have any backups? What if you had lost the device, or run over it with your car, or if someone had stolen it? Without a backup or without using iCloud, you wouldn't be able to get that important information in those situations either.

Sorry,

Well, yes, you can if you have a functioning device. But if it is locked with a screen lock, you have to unlock it to make it work ultimately. Here are some articles that have troubleshooting steps that may help (since you didn't specify whether you have a PC or a Mac, I've attached articles for both):

Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

Hi

If you had iCloud backup turned on before problems then when you last charged your iPhone it should have been backed up to iCloud.

Go to settings on new iPhone down to reset Restore iPhone back to factory settings.

Set back up over your wifi when it asks if you want to use iCloud backup Say yes to get your apps and data back this will only work if you had iCloud backup turned on before problems.

Cheers
