Apple Watch update cause notifications to stop

My Apple Watch series 2 no longer sends me updates, calendar reminders, text messages or syncs activity data. Watch shows green phone for connectivity. iPhone 6 shows Apple Watch connnected via Bluetooth. But, when using the Apple Watch app, it states that it can’t find my phone when I’m look for a software update but shows my Watch face and watch name in the app. I’ve read that resetting the watch doesn’t work. I’m working on 2 months in a row with all 3 rings closed and on Feb 9, none of my activity tracking is anycing even when using the workout app that came with the watch. Even steps that show up in health app from carrying the phone won’t show up in the activity app. What should I do?

Hi

Follow the instructions here, if necessary including unpairing and re-pairing your Apple Watch - including if your devices indicate that they are connected, but do not behave accordingly:

If I unpair my watch from my phone, will I lose my data on my watch? This is such a bummer. Since my phone isn't syncing with the data on my watch, whatever was last on my phone will be what gets re-installed, right? Ugh. I know this isn't actually a big deal but it's so annoying to be purposely working toward a goal that is only tracked on my watch and now I'll be missing 4 days of data. Dang it.

I'm afraid so. You will not be able to retain any data since the point at which your Apple Watch last successfully synced Activity data to your iPhone.
