Hi all,
I've been using Logic Pro x for 4 years now, and I don't remember always having this problem but it's dang impossible to ignore. For every track I make, software or audio, the volume fader has absolutely no effect on the metering level displayed. I can push the fader down to -infinity but the meter will still be pumping away, peaking even. What gives? The master track fader works fine, though.

Don't worry, go to the menu bar at the top, click on MIX, then un check Pre-Fader metering.
You will then have post fader metering, and your fader will control the meter display.

For future reference, when you're in Pre-Fader metering mode, the meter is displayed to the left of the fader in the mixer. In Post-Fader metering, it's on the right.

You most probably monitor "pre fade", if you want you can change this in the Track options I think.
