Formula in personal budget on numbers?

Hello, I created my own budget page that works for our family. I really like the idea they have on the personal budget template where the transactions are linked to the budget. I want to do the same thing on my budget but I can’t seem to figure out the formula to link my transactions to my budget. They are on separate tables on the same page and I set up pop up menus for the categories in my transactions table but I just can’t seem to get it to work. Can’t find any help on google. Please help.

the "link" between transactions and the budget is the category.

In the transactions table you enter the information with a category

on the table for the budget, the formula sums all that transaction amounts for each category. so the key is to make sure the category names exactly match.

Perhaps you could add some made up data, then post some screenshots and formulas you are using while describing what the specific problem is.
