apple carplay NOT working in my new Mercedes GLC 300

Thanks John. This worked for me. I was also able to figure out how to work around needing to confirm your connection each time - open CarPlay without your device plugged in. You should see an “Options” tab on the main screen. Click that and you will be given the option to have CarPlay automatically connect when your device is plugged in.

Same thing happened in my new GLE worked well for 2 weeks then disappeared. Tried everything... then to check it was not my phone I plugged in my Partners phone which worked straight away.. so I then tried mine again... and it worked straight away. Bizarre.

I have this problem as well and it’s always fixed by plugging a different phone in, wait for Apply Carplay to start. Once Apple carplay starts with another phone unplug that phone and plug yours in. Apply carplay should now work with your phone.

It’s not ideal but works for me each time.

If you haven't gotten this resolved...then you will need to go into the cars setting and do a reset of the radio and devices. I did this on mine after lots of research. Apple car play worked fine for me after the reset.

Yesterday I got in my 2018 GLA 250 4Matic Mercedes and tried to crank it. The battery was dead. But, before this I was having the same syncing problem. My phone/music/navigation all worked beautifully with my new car. About a month ago I realized they no longer synced from phone to car. I had not changed anything and I assume it is something to do with the car. It is at Mercedes repair now. They said the battery was fine, just drained but still put a new one in. They are keeping my car another day to try to figure out what is wrong. Sounds like an electrical problem to me.

Hope this gets resolved. I depend on my navigation off my phone.

Heyyy I had the same problem and was able to fix it luckily... you should disable the restrictions on your iPhone by going to settings>General>restrictions, also as crazy as this may sound you should also try to switch the USB port in which the cable is connected... there are typically two USB ports in the car, the latter helped me out.

I have this problem too after updating to 12.1. I reset the factory settings and when I plug in my phone apple carplay comes up and I can hear the music but the screen is all pixelated and messed up. Is there a fix for this? I have a 2019 glc300. Apply car play works fine with my sister’s phone and hers has not been updated

I have exactly the same car and problem (purchased 30 days after you). CarPlay initially worked (2 days) then disapeared.

Have you resolved this problem? and if so, How?

I have the same exact issue. No idea if they haven’t released a new SW or what but this has become a liability if I have to be looking at my phone while driving to use GPS. Upsetting.

This is not helpful. I tried everything and still, I'm not able to connect to Apple Carplay. I still need to hold the phone while I'm driving.
