PROBLEMS WITH ITUNES

HI for the last month or so I have not been able to install any new updates on my laptop (it's not an old laptop and does not have any issues with it). When I do open it, it is not detecting any devices at all. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled with no luck. Can anyone help resolve this as I cannot sync any songs to phones or ipod. TIA

Did you follow all the steps in the "If you use a Windows PC" section of:


If iTunes doesn't recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod - Apple Support


or, in your response to Phil0124, did you actually see the device icon when you opened iTunes?
