Stop Sharing apps between mac users

So a few weeks ago they gave me a new mac book pro in my job which I'm allowed to use it as my personal laptop too as long as I take care of it obviously. Basically, I'm installing things like Netflix, Spotify, skype, utorrent etc. and other apps that I dont like it to appear in my professional user cause I want to keep that one as clean as possible. Now, how do I do that? How do I hide/move those apps from the commun "Application" folder into some other one that only while on my personal user can be seen? Thanks

MacBook Pro TouchBar and Touch ID, iOS 11.2.6

You could create a home folder -> Applications Folder and put your non-work apps there.

You could take it a step further, and create a separate login account for personal stuff vs your work stuff. And your personal account would have a Home folder -> Applications folder, so that your work login should not see them.

NOTE: If an app has its own installer, it may or may not have an option to put an app somewhere other than the official Applications folder.

An app that is distributed via a .dmg container file, can be dragged anywhere you want.

HOWEVER, no matter what, DO NOT remove official Apple installed software from the Applications or Applications -> Utilities folders. That will only result in pain down the road. If Apple put it there, leave it there. Use Aliases as shortcuts you can access from other folders if you want that.

Regardless of the fact that your employer is allowing you some personal use of the laptop, be careful what you install. Torrent software seems like a bad idea, for example.

Presumably your employer could ask to examine your laptop at any time. By all means keep your apps separate in your Users/You/Applications folder, but be prepared to allow your employer to see anything you install.
