kernel panic

I installed the Sierra update on my MacBook and now it is giving me a kernel panic message and my computer keeps rebooting. The safe mode does not work no matter how many times I press and hold the shift button. It is not doing anything. At this point are there any other options to fix this issue?

Start from Recovery HD and “Reinstall macOS” . Use the appropriate key combination. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204904
