I go into my general setting to storage to delete the automatically downloaded iOS update and after I hit the big red “delete update” button and I see nothing happens. It just takes me back to the previous menu and the update remains. *** Can’t delete on iPad or iPhone!

According to the Terms of Use to which you agreed when you registered here, Apple has the absolute right to edit or remove posts from this forum as they see fit.
I just deleted one last night so it does work.
It did take a minute or three for the badge to go away. ANd I’m sure it will redownload as long as there is room on my device but it does delete.
