Reimporting from camera archive imports a different clip with different timecode

If I try to reimport a clip from a camera archive that has gone offline the clip it reimports is from the start of the clip and not the actual timecode sequence of the original captured clip.

Background: We create camera archives of all our footage. We then capture from these camera archives. We’ve had an edit (latest FCPX with an upgraded library) where some media has gone offline (no big surprise there - it happens!) but where we go to reimport from the camera archive to ‘get the media back online’ what it reimports is actually the exact same amount of frames as per the original clip but the timecode starts from the start of that clip in the camera archive… So it isn’t re-capturing the correct piece of footage - so any backup or emergency rebuilds from the FCPX backup libraries which would have all the media offline where we should be able to reimport clips from the camera archive to as such rebuild our edits' wont work as it captures completely different clips.

I can recreate this issue quite simple by creating a new library - capturing a selection clip from a camera archive (not from the start of the clip - we just grab a random piece in the middle of a recorded clip) and after it’s been imported we can reveal the clip in the finder and delete it to ‘force it offline’. Back in the library it’ll be offline and we choose reimport the clip from camera archive and what it reimports is the same lenght of clip but from the start of the clip and not the exact timecode as per the originally imported clip (as such a different section of the required clip) … So this breaks and destroys any way to rebuild a project from the FCP backup files and the camera archive… EEEK!
