Strange holiday in US Holidays Calendar

Anyone else have the new holiday "Holi" in their US Holidays Calendar for Friday March 2? Sadly it can't be deleted.

Here's the contents of the vcard for that special day:

No one is "distressed" because a Hindu holiday is in the calendar.

I would like the option of getting rid of the holidays that are not either Christian or National holidays, mostly because it affects me personally or any business I would need to (or not) do on that date. This is a new item that just popped up in the last week, so people are just asking how to rid it from the calendar, keeping the holidays we'd like. The feedback link? Helpful. The rest of the post? No.

It is not nevessary to say it over and over again. By saying Apple should allow changes, it is implied that I understand the changes cannot be made now. And the history has been explained as well. However it got to where its current state is not relevant to my assessment of the functionality now. Just wanted to correct your assumption that no one is distressed and explain why.

But how is that a US Holiday? Why are we not able to modify the US Holidays calendar so it only has Federal US Holidays? Or why not create an alternate calendar with just US Holidays and maybe do calendars for each faith independently as there are some conflicts between certain faiths? There are so many ways Apple could have done this less offensively.

But, MOST people don't consider the celebrations of other people/religions/beliefs "offensive"

As has been stated repeatedly in this thread, it is very easy to subscribe to any calendar that matches your sensibilities.

Offensively!?! Are you serious? Is having a handful of holidays that you don't celebrate showing up on your calendar really "offensive"? How about considering it a learning opportunity? It gives you a chance to find out what your fellow citizens are celebrating. The fact that Apple put Holi on the calendar caused me to look it up, learn about it, learn about how many of my fellow citizens are Hindu and might be celebrating this rather lovely sounding holiday.
