Contact search not highlighting

In High Sierra when I do a search for some content that I know is somewhere in the Contacts cards the system will pull up all the cards that have that content but does not highlight it when I look at a card. Some of my contact 'notes' are rather long and it is difficult to find what I'm looking for in the Notes section. This used to work well but since going to H.S. it stopped.

Anyone have an idea how to bring this back?

How replace Contacts.app only? High Sierra Contacts.app misfunctions, For many months. Running High Sierra. Examples: While editing a card, It reverts to non-editing. I frequently see a card in which I had Previously entered notes or other fields of data, which longer appear in the card. So I thought perhaps I could download only the contacts.app, in case it is corrupted or something. What should I do?

Contacts—entries disappear before saving & jumps to other cards. Adding contacts in a relaxed manner has become impossible. After opening a new contact form and entering one name, the program jumps to an existing contact with that name in it, or it just disappears. I've had to develop a workaround. It works quite well, but is annoying: I put all the data in the Notes App. Then I copy one datum and paste it in the right category. Then I immediately save the file. I put in the most unusual item first because I often have to search for it because the file has disappeared. I do the same for each datum until, after a few entries the whole file stops disappearing. The key seems to be saving quickly, which isn't easy while typing with two fingers.
