Iphone 7 plus screen black out

The screen on my iPhone 7 plus started to go black around the edges until there was only an oval shaped window left on the screen. Pushed the power button, hit the home button and all was well. It did this two more times randomly, then went totally black. I am getting texts and phone calls, but the screen is still black. Hard reset didn't work. Any suggestions?
