Yesterday my wife's iphone had significantly more usage than normal.
I have a 3 Gb plan I share with my wife.
We rarely usage more than 1.0 Gb in a month.
Yesterday morning her phone used almost two Gb.
She has not added any new apps.
She does get some news alerts this has always been the case.
Is there a way to determine what app was using the data?
Or is there anything else we should examine?

The data usage listed appears to be much more than we have used for the current period.
Does this usage also include whatever we have used via home wireless connections?
When it says current period is that since we initiated the app or our current cell phone provider's monthly usage allowed.
For instance my current period says 16.9 GB have been used.
That is way higher than the current period for my billing purposes.
No, data usage under wifi network is not included. Only cellular data.
The "current" period starts when you reset your statistics (Settings>Cellular or Mobile Data>scroll down to the end and tap on last option).

In case it wasn't clear, that is the total cellular data used since the statistics were last manually re-set. That does not re-set at the end of your billing period. There is no provision for doing that.
