iCloud Backup

I have been trying to delete an old iPhone backup of 4,3GB from my iCloud, but I always get the same response "the file selected could not be delete please try again later"

MacBook Pro, macOS High Sierra (10.13.3), iCloud

How come I cannot delete an old iCloud backup? I have an iPhone 7 and just upgraded to an iPhone 8. When I tried deleting the iCloud backup of my iPhone 7 I get an error, "Cannot Delete Backup - This backup cannot be deleted at this time." and with the only options of OK or Try Again. I've tried deleting from 3 methods: directly from the iPhone 7, iphone 8 and via the Windows iCloud; all options says the same error. Please help as it is occupying 2GB of my iCloud storage.

Deleting my iPhone backup, When I go to delete my iPhones Backup, Turn Off & Delete, I get an error message saying Cannot Delete Backup. This backup can not be deleted at this time. Why do i get this? I is taking up 4 GB of my data. I tried doing the same in the icloud app but the same thing happens. Pleasew help... Thx

If necessary contact iCloud Support. You may have to try twice.
