Not adding clips to iMovie

In iMovie it allows me to drag some video clips into my project but with others a little circle with a cross through it covers the mouse and it will now allow me to add multiple different clips. At first I thought it was because some were time lapses but it is doing it with regular videos as well.

Clips are not showing timeline in IMovie, only as one solid clip When I drag clips into IMovie, the clip is being shown as one small clip, not a continuous set of frames which is a nuisance as you can't see the gaps in between takes. I have not adjusted any settings in the program, only discovered this when dragging clips in the work area to edit. Could someone advise how to get the clips to display as the set of frames instead of one small solid clip?

iMovie won't let me drag and drop images from My Movie Hello, I have created timelapse videos before in iMovie, but this time when I drag and drop the images from My Movie to the lower area, the images won't stay there. Can anyone help? Thanks so much!

iMovie 10.1.14 Media clip issues Why is there no longer the option to have an ORANGE LINE at top of MEDIA CLIPS denoting that the clip is being used in the TIMELINE?...and a RED LINE for deleted clips AND, how can I add a portion of a MEDIA CLIPS to TIMELINE by dragging the part of the clip I want to move to Timeline rather than having to move the entire clip to the TIMELINE?...as you see I trying to do in the below video.
