I know this has been asked before, but I want to attach an iphoto to the mail application, I have tried changing the text format from plain to rich and back again but either way the photo appears as embedded and not as an attachment.
I have been making a zip folder on desk top, but wanted to know if there was a way of doing this simply by using the attach button.

The only sure fire way to have a photo appear as an attachment and not in full view in an email is to either: 1 - compress/zip the photo and add or; 2 - put the photo in a folder and add the folder as an attachment.
Those two methods will have the attachment arrive at the recipient the same way you sent it.
How it appears on your Mac has no bearing whatever on how it appears at the other end.
Right click on the image and choose Display as Icon.
