iphone drains battery even when not in use.

Hi everyone! my iphone's battery life turns out to perform unwell and idont know why. But b4 it happened, I was using my phone at dawn 3am then fell back asleep, without locking the phone so i waked up at 9am, My phone gets very very Hot. then i charged it but i noticed starting on that day upto now my phone always get very very HOT and DRAINS battery life even when not in use.,, And by the way im using ios11.2.5 tried all those battery saving tips but still wont work on my case.

Have you gone into your settings to see which apps are turned on in in Background App Refresh? Any apps that are turned on here will cause your battery to drain faster. Also check to see what you have turned on under location services because any apps and/or settings using location services will also drain your battery faster. One other thing to check is your mail settings, the more frequently your phone is set to check for mail the faster your battery will drain. Last, don't use your phone while it's charging and don't charge your phone until your battery is low as both of these things will cause your battery (and thus your phone) to overheat which overtime will shorten your battery life.
