debating on what would be a good macbook pro for me

I was interested in a 13in macbook pro that will get video editing done in 30-60 minutes for projects that are no more than 5-10 minutes. I'm just not to sure what would be a sufficient amount of RAM and how good of a processor I will need.

Personally I like the last of the Unibody models. You might be able to find a used one. The 13" mid-2012 (2.5GHz Core i5) model has the advantage that it stayed on the market for over 4 years and Apple will continue parts support for at least 5 years after it was last manufactured. I like it because it's pretty cheap and the general processor performance isn't much different than the current models. They still have plenty of ports and an optical drive. The main limitation is that the SATA III interface isn't as fast as the proprietary-interface and soldered SSDs of the Retina models. However, SSDs are pretty cheap now compared to when it came out and can make a huge difference.
