Mac OS High Sierra- Plugins not showing up

I'm posting this question and a solution because I noticed that in another thread people were reinstalling Logic X which is not necessary.

I've been setting up a new computer with Logic X 10.4.1 and as I installed my plugins I noticed that some of the AU plugins were not being registered with Logic.

To solve this issue,

  1. find the "com.apple.audiounits.cache" file in user/Library/Caches/AudioUnitCache/com.apple.audiounits.cache
  2. Delete "com.apple.audiounits.cache"
  3. Restart your computer
  4. Open Logic, logic will now rescan all your plugins and you should be set.User uploaded file
