Mail Archive

I wish to stop mails disappearing from the Mail Inbox on my Mac (running High Sierra) and being put into Archive. I never created this Archive, it's a feature I don't want. How do I eliminate it? I prefer all my mails to stay in my Inbox unless I, not some unknown force, decide otherwise.

iMac, macOS High Sierra (10.13.3)

I now have my own answer. Go to gmail web site ( I use gmail ), then go to Settings, and click Labels, find All mail and uncheck the "show in IMAP" box. Obvious once you know.
