Question: Can I operate a HomePod in my semi truck while working, or does it require being on a wifi network?

I'm curious if I can run a HomePod on my work truck while I'm away from home all week long. I have a wall outlet to plug it into for power, just no wifi network. Just an unlimited data plan on my iPhone. Would the HomePod still operate normally in the absence of wifi?

Hmm, I don't think that is going to work. When you configure the HomePod it takes the Wi-Fi settings from your iOS device. I don't think it can piggy back on the iPhone as a portable hotspot, although I suppose I could be wrong. You might be able to set it up using a MiFi device.

Siri on the HomePod requires access to the Internet via Wi-Fi, but I've just disabled the wireless of router and I can AirPlay from iPhone using the peer to peer connection, with the Home app set to allow speaker access by everyone, with a password.
