Mac freezes in photos

I have been working on a photo book in projects. I had completed the book, and then suddenly half of it was gone. I tried a repair, without success. The project (at least the second half) seems forever lost. I have endeavored to re-create it, but now my whole Mac freezes up when I am working on the photo book. It has happened twice now. By the way, this has happened since updating to High Sierra. Is there an update in the works that might fix this problem? My computer shows that I am currently up to date on all updates.

iMac, OS High Sierra 10.13.3

Where is your Photos Library stored?

are you using any imge files in an unusual format In the books, perhaps scanned photos that are not JPEGs?

and are you using any fonts, that are not standard Mac fonts? Duplicate fonts or custom fonts can cause crashes.

I pull up the book it says "Osaka font" is not available and asks if I want to download it. But I don't think I am using that font.

The book theme you are using may have been using this font. Which them are you using? Then we can try to check, if the theme is working on our Macs.

The application Font Book has a command "Validate Fonts". FontBook should be in your Applications folder.

Launch it and use the command "File > Validate Fonts". Perhaps you have a duplicate font or an outdated font installed.
