"Add to existing contact" dialog box has gone

Until recently I had the option of adding, say, and email address to an existing contact by clicking on the address's down arrow in Mac Mail.

I'd click on Add to Contacts and a dialog box would open where I could select which contact to add the address to, or to create a new contact.

Just recently that dialog box has disappeared - all I can do now is create a new contact.

Anybody else noticed this?

All software is the latest version. Happens on iMac and MacBook.

Not sure what to tell you. I selected one of my contacts, clicked, and selected "Email" and added 3 new emails.

Maybe someone else will have an idea.

I think you're approaching it backwards - I'm talking about adding to an existing contact from Mail, not changing an existing contact in Contacts.

Probably because I rarely use Mail. If there was such an option, it seems to be removed. "Add To Contacts" now only seems to create a new contact card.

tygb, what the user is looking for is "Add to existing contacts" from Mail which has never existed in OS X or macOS. It does however exist in iPhone Mail.

It doesnt exist on the only Mac I have that is still running Snow Leopard, other than that one my Macs all run ElCap or High there. It doesnt exist on either of them either.
