Logic Pro X will not stop scanning plugins on startup

This has been happening to a lot of people but it is really starting to affect my ability to use Logic in the studio.

No matter what I try, Logic rescans all my plugins almost every day. They are all valid, latest versions, official etc. (no cracks or dodgy ones) and there seems to be no reason for this.

Pro Tools is fine, Ableton Live is fine. Just Logic.

Does ANYONE know what's going on? Or is it just another side-effect of that woeful pile of junk they called High Sierra?

Thanks.

I would update macOS to 10.13.3, no need to trash the cache folder.

This was one of the known bugs in 10.13.1.

Thanks very Cuauhtemoc - I have now updated to 10.13.3

I love the phrase "known bugs" - it wasn't known to me and my endless trawls of the net trying to diagnose the problem failed to turn up anything resembling that fact 🙂

Following the first startup after the install of 10.13.3, Logic has opened with no scan of the plugins... fingers crossed this is the solution. And if it is, you will be soundly marked as a hero.
