captions are in Spanish not English

And I have them set to English in Settings > General > Assessability > Subtitles and Captioning.

The weird thing is when I was setting this Apple TV 4k (free from DirecTVNow) when it started the set up one of the very first things it asked me was my language. Since my older Apple TV had a different remote without a touchpad I screwed it up in set up and selected Spanish.

I did the set up by bluetoothing it with my phone. I've been watching various shows on DirecTV and the captioning is fine, it's in English (like MSNBC).

However, I just went to Hulu and started watching 11.22.63 and the captions are in Spanish.

Maybe it's just this particular show, but it's odd and being hearing impaired its hard for me to follow.

Any ideas?

Ok I got a great tech guy at Hulu and even if your captioning is set to English on your Apple TV, with the streamers you have to set it with them. Easy to do, start a show on their network.

So I went into Hulu and started 11.22.63 and once it starts and there are no captions (or in a different language) you swipe down on the remote trackpad. And the hulu captioning (or Netflix) menu drops down.

Yay I'm all set now!

I may have gotten feisty, it's so frustrating. I have an illness with good days and bad so sometimes the TV is all I've got the energy for. And I'm hearing impaired so I need the captions. As of right now, I've got no viable tv at all.

Everything on Hulu is in Spanish and according to them, that isn't the case the captions are whatever you have them set to.

Everything on DirecTV is in English (live TV like CNN)

Netflix has no captioning at all.

Very frustrated.
