I have an iPhone 6 running iOS 11.2.5 and have Bluetooth turned on. While in my car driving, I do not get any voice turn directions using Apple Maps or Google Maps. The car does not have a navigation screen. Volume settings on both Apple and Google have been set to every volume level, but still no voice. If car is not running, I get directions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have to make sure that the sound selection in your car is set to your phone. In other words, when you have a choice between listening to FM, AM, Bluetooth, etc, you have to select the Bluetooth sound option in your car.
Yep! If you turn off Bluetooth and disconnect your iPhone from your car, you should be able to get sound from your iPhone and audio from your radio.
Will I still be able to listen to the radio and have turn-by-turn directions?
No, because your audio source will be from Bluetooth, not FM or AM radio. That's kind of a drawback of that setup...

Yup... I figured out this same thing and then I realized why some cars had CarPlay (I never understood that before).
