My DVD's and CD's are not seen by the internal superdrive.
iMac, iOS 10.3.3, DVD &CD's don't work any more.
I have encountered this personally! 😟
The superdrive has TWO lasers - one for CDs and the other for DVDs. One of YOUR lasers has no doubt failed.
The solution was/is to replace the superdrive.
It may be more cost-effective to simply purchase an external drive and use that instead.

You can try cleaning it with a cleaning disk from office supply outlets, Amazon etc.
If cleaning doesn't work it's most likely broken.
