iBooks acting flakey

iBooks - Markup symbol disappears then reappears and the arrow no longer offers any options except email and print. What has happened? Is there any way to at least move my library to Dropbox or another app?

I need to be able to annotate documents. Can anybody offer a solution or a work around? Will Apple fix iBooks?

Open the PDF you’d like to export, hit the share button, select print, and then, placing two fingers on the print screen image of the document, push outward, like you would to zoom in. You print screen will display now as a shareable PDF that you can move to another application. You should also be able to simply drag the PDF to a supported application with drag and drop (like PDF Expert). If neither of these options work, your annotated PDF file may now be too large to move out the application and you’ll need to delete your annotations first.

Thanks, I will give this a try. But, what about the Markup symbol that likes to play hide and seek? I can’t annotate a research paper (completely) because the Markup symbol is sometimes in the upper right corner of iBooks and, then, poof! it’s gone and refuses to reappear. Then, all of a sudden, it’s back. Driving me nuts. I’m getting ready to abandon iBooks because of this, which is quite unfortunate because I’ve got ALOT of books, articles etc stored in iBooks (I lost a lot, too, with that upgrade last fall). It will be a pain to shift them. But, if I can’t get iBooks back to the functionality of prior to October, 2017, I likely will quit. Sigh. Any invite you can share is appreciated.

I’m not sure what’s going on with your markup button. Unfortunately, you can’t export EPUB books from iBooks in iOS, only PDFs. You can in Mac OS, just by dragging them out of the app and/or finding them in the hidden app folder. The books are not accessible from iOS nor in iCloud. I always keep a separate folder in Files with my EPUBs. You cannot markup or annotate an EPUB in the same ways as a PDF since it uses flowing text. You can only highlight an EPUB.
