Factory reset & spinning globe

please help! I am looking to sell my macbook Pro, however wanted to restore to factory setting before I do. I followed instructions to wipe the drive, however before I could reinstall, it rebooted and for the past three hours there has been a spinning globe with a Timer under it. When it first restarted it asked for my internet login, but nothing since and the timer Varies from 1 hour to 24 hours. I did try to restart again earlier and hold down the command R buttons but it didn’t work. I am worried that I have really messed something up, please help! User uploaded file

Thanks dominic23, after 4 hours it finally got to the page to install Sierra. This has now been ‘installing’ for 5 hours, in which time the only thing that happened was moving from 6 minutes remaining, to 5 minutes remaining.

I understand it may take time, but surely a computer less than 5 months old, that is rarely used, shouldnt take THIS long? :/ is this normal?
