Macbook Pro touch bar Horizontal black lines

I have a late 2016 Macbook Pro with the touch bar and it has been showing faint grey horizontal lines for months. It started with these being very faint and after warming up for a few minutes they would go away. Now they start and are very dark on the bottom and more faint on top. They fade to faint grey lines after using the notebook for a few minutes, but they never go away. Apple Genius says it a defective screen and its 2 months out of warranty so they won't stand by it. Anybody else having this issue? I feel like Apple just does not give a crap about service anymore!

I figured that but I had to ask anyway. It's sounds like you have the right diagnosis. It's unfortunate it's out of warranty but I don't ever remember Apple being very flexible on the warranty period. I don't think it's some new behavior for them.

Well, Apple admits it is defective. I have proof that I was trying to trouble shoot the problem before the warranty expired on this $3000 computer expired, but they won't accept that and pretty much give me the run around that say Apple doesn't care. They trained their staff, to be very rigid and in my opinion, pretty smarmy about my problem. Been buying Apple products since 1984, but not sure I'll buy again. My daughter's Surface developed a dead pixel 6 months after warranty and the Microsoft store replaced it without any question.

Disappointed and jaded.
