Upload capped on MacBook Pro

It seems that no matter what program I use (Transmit, FileZilla or others) my uploads from my laptop are capped at 1.5mb/s. I have 10mb/s upload speed (tested) and I am uploading large video files to stock video libraries. All the programs yield the same cap speed. I am using the readout within the program and iStats Menus to read my speed and it never goes over 1.5mb/s. I have a 2016 Touch Bar MacBook Pro and I am on a Airport Wireless station. I even set it to the 5GHz channel. It just seems to behave like something in the OS is capping the upload out of the laptop. Any ideas? Please don't use this to recommend other programs. I have scoured the web and tested so many of them with the same results. Something else is limiting this upload. Can anyone help?

Thanks!!!

Mac Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1), Did I mention it also works as a computer?

Can you spell out how you tested the upload speed? I assume using another device or computer? Since everything on the laptop is capped at 1.5mb/s.

OR is it only FTP or SFTP that is capped at the speed?

Apple routers have known issues with FTP.

I am on a Airport Wireless station.

Which one and how is it connected to the network?

What make and model is your main modem?

Can you use another brand router? Or take the laptop to a friend's house and check you have the same limitation?
