SMB share: The alias can't be opened because the original item can't be found

Hi all,

One of our user is having this issue below on Mac OS High Sierra, those who're with Sierra working fine

Version: 10.13.3

When user searched for a file on Finder - it brings up the list of files/folders (blank document icon next to the files).

Once the file is clicked I get the error message below.

******************************************************************************** ***********************************

Error message: SMB share: The alias can't be opened because the original item can't be found

******************************************************************************** ***********************************

This share is working fine for other Mac users who're running Sierra 10.12

I have looked at Apple forums and followed the steps below as advised in other discussions,

1. I tried to force quit the finder and relaunch

2. I have removed it from the favorites and re added - so creates a new link

3. Deleted the SMB share, rebooted the Mac, re added the SMB share

4. Re-indexed with the Spotlight, rebooted, tested - still the same error message

Interim - I have installed EasyFind app - which works perfectly fine

Is it a known issue on High Sierra?

Does anyone came across this type of issue on High Sierra?

Please advise a resolution.

Thanks

John
