Are these guys idiots or what?
I lost my phone. Activated icloud lock. Phone was returned to me and worked until batter died. Now it wont charge or power on. Screen is black.

Take it into your local Apple store or authorised re-seller for evaluation. There have been some battery problems so read this document from Apple. Your phone should qualify providing it has not been tampered with by a third party.
