Early 2011 MB Pro Beachballing

Hi,

My MB Pro has started continually freezing for a few seconds at a time. I cannot even listen to music without it stopping every 10 seconds or so.

I ran EtreCheck which only found that my battery needed replacing. Replaced it and ran it again and it didn't pick up any issues.

Any ideas what might be wrong? The most common problem I've been able to find is a faulty HD cable.

Any advice would be appreciated.

MacBook Mid 2014, Mojave. Freezes. Struggling with some strange behavior on why MPB mid 2014. I recently replaced the battery and it had been running rock solid. About 5 days ago I was watching a YouTube video and the MBP completely froze. No movement of cursor. Had to do a force restart. Since that time, every time I restart it things look to be running okay for about 5 minutes. Opening an app, doing some keyboard presses etc cause it to freeze. If I wait long enough it will usually power down on it's own. No peripherals attached. I've reset the SMC. Tried it with the power adapt. I've run Apple Diagnostics with no issues reported. I've run Etrecheck. No reported issues. I've confirmed the fans are working as well. Yesterday I wiped the drive and reinstalled Mojave. It ran for 24 hours with four windows of youtube videos running and a half dozen apps running - including iTunes. Everything was fine until I sat down and did some key presses, open some windows etc. beachball and then a freeze. Any thoughts...?

MacBook Pro keeps freezing Hiya I have a problem with my 2015 MacBook Pro 13’ that has been happening for 2+ years. It will run like normal for a couple of weeks, the randomly start to freeze. When it freezes the sound skips, and it either freezes on the screen I’m on or on a black screen, and a reboot is always required (if left for too long it automatically restarts itself anyway). Once it starts doing this, it tends to continue I.e I will boot it up and within a few minutes it is frozen again. Eventually it will start working normally again but it usually takes at least a couple of days, if not a week. It is essentially unusable during this time as it freezes every time it is rebooted. Is there a solution to this? I tried factory resetting but this did not help. Thanks

MBP crashes when on battery I just started having an issue where my MBP will crash when I'm on battery power.It doesn't crash instantly when I unplug the power. It works for 5-20 minutes and then seems to crash randomly. It doesn't seem to mater what i'm doing. I can be doing work in photoshop or just browsing websites and it'll crash.The crash is a total system "freeze." The cursor stops responding to the track pad, the display freezes, the keyboard keys seem to do nothing. I can't force quit or anything. The only way to fix it is to hold down the power button till the MBP shuts off and then turn it back on. It boots back up fine and will run for 5-20 minutes and then crash again.I'm usually plugged in when using my MBP but i'm pretty sure this just started a few days ago. I can't think of anything that's changed in the last few days that would cause this.
