Apple services GDPR compliant?

I am very confused because I cannot find any stratement from Apple regarding GDPR compliance. Is it so obvious that I am missing it? Can anyone point me there? You find everyone on the net like Microsoft, Adobe, etc. - but not Apple!?

If Apple does not comply, we (everyone from Europe using Apple products) will run into potentially HUGE trouble. Next to Apple themselves, unless Apple decides to shut down iCloud, the AppStore etc. in Europe completely??

Both would mean we must stop using Apple devices until May in commercial use. That would be very sad, but the only legal solution.

Can anyone share some good news regarding this...?

I spoke with Apple support a short while ago. iCloud WILL be GDPR compliant by the time the act comes into effect next month, and an announcement / confirmation will be made "within the next week or so".

At last..... I spoke at length with Apple (again) today. iCloud is GDPR compliant from a *consumer* user perspective - right to be forgotten, data held securely, transparent access etc. - and there is a statement here: Privacy - Approach to Privacy - Apple (UK)

However, as a "Data Controller" in the eyes of the UK ICO, I cannot use iCloud for the storage of client data, which was my original intention, as iCloud is only intended (and designed) to be used as a consumer platform. Hence the B2B agreement I would need to cover my backside should iCloud be hacked and data breached is not possible. D@mn!

thanks philippp, the governance one i had seen already. the dev one does apply to me and thanks also for the third link, had a quick read through but with only a week to go, they are cutting it very fine... 🙂

It seems to be a very long "next week or so". I think I may have to log another support call with Apple. I would dearly love to use my 200G iCloud storage subscription for storing business related data (instead of OneDrive) but if Apple can't confirm that iCloud it is GDPR compliant then its too much of a risk since the fines are punitive should a breach occur.
