Midi connection problem

Every time i connect My Yamaha DGX660 piano to logic via midi and select an instrument, it makes a loud banging sound like someone banging on the piano. It continues to make that sound every time a note is played on the piano. I've done everything I know how to. ranging from deleting and reinstalling logic, to updating logic to the latest version, to updating my computer to OS Sierra high, to resetting the piano.

I have another small Arturia midi controller that works perfectly when connected to logic. I would think it was my piano's fault, but the piano works perfectly with garageband, ableton and pro tools when connected through midi.

I don't know if anyone has any other settings that I could adjust that may be of help.
