Apple Watch activity app problem

I have a series 2 Apple watch and until this week, have had no issues. On Monday, I tried to open the activity app and found that there was no data, history or current. Also the friends that I share with had no data. My watch seemed completely fine. So, I decided to unpair my watch and re-pair it and see if that would work. I then deleted the activity app from my phone. After I re-paired the phone, I tried to open the app and all I get is a black screen with a spinning wheel. Endlessly. I have now un-paired, re-paired the watch 4 times. I have restarted everything multiple times and still the app won't open. Help!
