Sending PDF in Email on iPad

When I try to send a pdf in an email from my iPad Air2, the content of the pdf opens and becomes visible in the email. Can someone tell me how, in iOS 11 on my iPad air2, I can embed a pdf in an email?

Cannot open PDF’s received in email after iOS 13 update After updating to IOS 13 I cannot open PDF’s. When I tap them in the email body the image changes to a zip file look but still says .pdf as the file. Has anyone found a solution for this?
