Contacts notes not showing fully

I use the notes section in contacts extensively. I'm not sure when this started but only the past year or so software upgrade. Some contacts have long notes cut off about 20 lines down... other contact notes show full window text with active slider. for the cut off notes I need to click in the note and start editing and then more lines of text show but still no scroll bar and I can't see the bottom... plus when I click in the cut off notes the cursor shows up about 5 lines down from where I clicked. This is very clumsy, unintuitive editing practices by Apple.

Any help here?
