Any resolution?

Was there ever any resolution on this issue? I have a 2017 CR-V and an iPhone with current iOS updates. I can enter Carplay, but have to use my phones controls most of the time. The problem is especially bad when using Maps. I'm not happy about it, but it is a workaround.

Any advice would be great.
