iOS system using 115 GB storage — all my music

At some point this evening, the music files on my iPad (or the storage space they use) seem to have been somehow sucked into the System because "System" is showing storage of 115.7 GB in Settings > General > iPad Storage.

I keep all my ripped music on my iPad but I can no longer see them in the Music app, only the few iTunes purchases I've made.

I've powered off the iPad several times, as well as done a soft reset (Home/Power Button) with no luck.

Anyone ever see this? If so, is there any resolution short of a restore from backup?

I think I found a solve short of a full restore.

I remembered that there was a problem with one of my syncs so maybe iOS pushed all my music files into some system cache (that's a wild guess). Since I was certain (because of the huge size) that the issue was with my music files I deleted the Music app. That dropped the storage size for System to a much more reasonable ~8GB, and it stayed in that range when I re-downloaded the Music app. I'm syncing back all my music now. Let's hope the issue's resolved.
