Right AirPod does not function

Product name: AirPods

iOS: 11.2.6

Problem: The right AirPod in my set does not connect to any of my devices. It also does not charge or register in the case when I place both AirPods into it. When my left AirPod is in the case, it receives a charge, as does the case when it is connected to power. However, when the right AirPod is in the case, the light will flash green or amber, depending on how much charge is left in the case. This seems to drain the battery of the case, as I left the AirPods in the case overnight and woke up to check them, and the case was at 32% charge, after being at 100% charge when I went to bed.

When I pair my AirPods and the case with one of my devices, they connect successfully, but the right AirPod does not come up as part of the set. For example, when I pair the AirPods with my iPhone X (iOS 11.2.6) and check the Batteries widget, only the left AirPod and the case are listed. It does not seem to be a matter of the right AirPod being low on or out of charge, but rather that it is unable to synchronize or connect with the other AirPods or any other device.

I have attempted to go through these steps. I have unpaired the AirPods with my devices completely and re-paired them, but the right bud still doesn’t work. When I have the buds in the case and attempt to hold the button until the light flashes amber, it never gets to that point. It just pulses white indefinitely, regardless of how long I hold the button. I believe this is because the right bud is not communicating with the left or the case.
