Uploading duplicate photos

When I upload the photo's from my phone onto my computer I am getting duplicate copies of most of my photos. How can I prevent that from happening? Also, I am getting files that read (for instance) img_2741.AAE and I'm not sure what those files are or why I'm getting them as well. The only thing I know to do is to go through and delete the excess videos/photos and it is VERY time consuming to do so.

I have an iPhone 8 plus and am uploading to a PC.

Photo uploads Everytime I plug my phone in to my imac it transfers all photos. I only want the newest un-imported photos. I have one photo that is duplicated on my computer over 1000 times and can't figure out how to eliminate it. I have "transfer to mac or pc checked and icloud Photos checked. What else do I need to do to eliminate this issue or is it normal?

Duplicate photos appeared on my iPhone Hi, I recently realized that all of the iPhone photos on my phone from Nov 14, 2018 until present have somehow duplicated. I suspect something might have happened the last time I downloaded pics from my phone to my computer?? How can I get rid of all these duplicates and keep this from happening again? Thank you
